This is just a short, heads-up post that Early Alpha Read invites have been sent out for Jungle! That’s right, if you’ve been a long-time Alpha Reader, check your e-mail inbox!
Woooo! It’s time!
So, readers, as some of you may have noticed, the Alpha 1 for Axtara – Banking and Finance is complete! Boo-yah! Changes have been made, chapters have been tucked, etc etc. But now, as you may have guessed from the title, it’s time for a second Alpha.
This one will go a lot quicker than the first. The goal here is just to see the results of the changes made on a new test audience, one that hasn’t read the story before.
All right folks. This is it.
“Old guard” Alpha Readers have had access to Starforge‘s Alpha since Monday. Feedback is already coming in, which is awesome. Also it’s pretty positive feedback, not that I’m saying there aren’t changes to make—there are. Just small ones, thankfully, so far. No big plot holes yet.
I know that I’ve been kind of quiet lately. Two posts per week, one of them Being a Better Writer. But there’s a good reason for it.
Jungle is surging forward. And I mean racing. I’ve been throwing a lot of work into it as it has entered the Alpha, and currently, that means I’m getting about 20,000-30,000 words of it edited per day,
Hey folks! Max here with a bit of an interesting request from an Alpha Reader on A Game of Stakes.
Well, this week was kind of a bust. Not great when you’re on a schedule but …
The basic gist of it, folks, is that I caught a cold that’s been going around. Cough, stuffy nose, some soreness. Oh, and a fuzzy head, which pretty par for the course when getting sick.
Unsurprisingly, it’s been a little rough trying to pull my head back into work. It’s … part of grief, as I understand it.
But part of it is also the timing. Axtara – Magic and Mayhem was almost done with its first Alpha Read. And now?
I really need to make a new list of “assorting things to talk about” for these off days, but right now I spend so much writing time thinking about Starforge that doesn’t seem to be happening!
But hey, at least that means there are updates there to speak of. So, how is work coming along on Starforge?
Oh yes. Some of you might have wondered when there was no news post yesterday, but I think you’ll decide that this was well worth the wait.
That’s right: It’s the Alpha Call. It’s here!

Okay, that’s unfair. Obviously a lot. But the core statement above is true: Axtara – Magic and Mayhem is now in Alpha. Everyone’s favorite dragoness banker is back for another cozy adventure, and is still aiming for a pre-Christmas release!

Hey readers! Just a quick post here but ...
I need more Alpha Readers. A few of my old standbys are busy with life/college/etc and are unable to contribute at this time, and I'd really like to get a few more eyes on Shadow of an Empire before bumping it to Beta status. Right now, we're sitting at one Alpha having already read through completely, and a few more working on it, but I'd like to get a wider net if possible.
I know I said there would be a news post on Tuesday. And then that … got derailed by a lot of work. As did Wednesday, as I was half-dead from lack of sleep and honestly didn’t trust myself to rub two sentences together.
